Fun Fall Weekends

October has been such a great month.  Work hard, play hard has definitely been our motto...aka no fun during the week but make the most out of the weekend!  Two weeks ago was definitely an example!

We started the weekend with a BYU football game..

Then we had the opportunity to go the morning session of General Conference.   I have been wanting to go for a long time. The one time we did have tickets I got super sick and we couldn't go.  Luckily no sickness this time and we made it!

It was a really amazing experience, the talks were so spiritually uplifting...and I have to say I LOVE conference:)

Then we got to go to Frightmares!!  Every year to celebrate Danica and Skyler's birthdays the whole family does a fun activity.  Usually we go to Park City and ride the Alpine Slide, but this year we decided to go to Frightmares at Lagoon!  I have been wanting to go so bad! As a kid I went to Six Flags all the time, so I was really excited to see what Utah had to offer in the way of theme parks...

They had really cool pumpkin decorations all over!

Love them:)
It was such a great weekend filled with sports, family, and the gospel.. We definitely couldn't have asked for a better weekend:)

Skyler's Bday

My sweetheart turned 25 on October 6th!!!!!
Skyler's cute mom met us for lunch. The mountains got their first snow on his birthday so I had to take a picture!

That night we met both of his parents for dinner at Sky's favorite restaraunt, Olive Garden, and then came back to our condo to watch a movie with Danica.
Best In-laws ever!

The next night we met up with our friends to celebrate at Goodwood!
Jen and Chan
Regan and Conlin
The cake I made...it turned out looking like a spiderman cake lol..
Jantzen, Riley, and Nate

That Sunday we went to Skyler's parent's house to celebrate one more time...Deby made Sky's favorite cake..German Chocolate with Coconut frosting..it was yummy!

I'm so lucky to have such an amazing man in my life.  Happy Birthday babe!!!!!!

Hiking Mt. Timpanogos

Three weeks ago Skyler, his parents, his sister, and I decided it would be a really fun family activity to hike Mt. Timp.  My MIL has been hiking tons this summer and decided she wanted a new adventure...

The hike was beautiful.  I forget sometimes that I live in such an amazing place...

Pretty views

The first fourth of the hike had gorgeous waterfalls all along the trail

On the way back down the mountain while trying to walk across this glacier again..I definitely started to fall down the side of the mountain...Skyler had to grab me as I started to slide and save me!  I definitely did not have the right shoes to go snowshoeing on the side of a mountain!  I'm sure I looked ridiculous!

Skyler and I<3

This was from the peak that we had lunch at..we could have stopped here but being able to see the highest peak pushed us to the top!

You could see the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake from the top!

The Top!

All of us

We were supposed to be making a funny face but I guess I'm the only one that got the memo lol!

Halfway point

View of the peak from where we started on the bottom
The hike was definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done. We thought originally that the hike would take 4-5 hours and would be about 7.5 miles altogether.  Instead it was 7-8 hours long and was 18 miles long altogether.  Before we realized how far it was we were all talking about how we should hike it every year..by the end we were talking about how it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience lol!  We were exhausted and every muscle hurt!  I'm sure we looked so funny finishing up the hike since we all looked like we were going to pass out!  It definitely took a couple of days before I could walk again!

In all it was such a great experience, and it was so nice to spend some quality time together.  The fall leaves were gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and the views were amazing!

My First Time Golfing

Skyler and I have been super busy, but we found an amazing deal on Groupon recently for golfing that was too good to pass up.  Thus we decided it was time I learned how to golf!

Practicing at the driving range before going out on the course!
So far so good right here...

Unfortunately here it became obvious that I swing my golf club like I used to swing a softball bat..although a winning combination in softball...not so much with golf lol!
Driving to the Back 9 Holes on the Mountain

The path to the back 9 holes on the mountain...so pretty.  We are loving the fall colors!

Beautiful view from the first hole!

Driving the golf cart was definitely the best part of the day:)

Skyler has alot better swing than me...

We thought it was funny as we were driving there was a sign that said rugged...and sure enough..it was definitely rugged driving there.
Overall it was an amazing date, and although I'm pretty terrible.. I did get par on one hole (thats good right lol?).  It was so nice to spend some uninterrupted time with Sky in the beautiful weather without worrying about work or school (although we probably should have been doing both)!  I can't wait to do it again!
